So you're 16 and getting praise but not to show a little discipline is unreal!! Well done to the manager and keep your head up Max!!
This ESPN guys can’t be this stupid! Arteta just explained that he had this talk on this game with Dowman prior to red card moreso given a similar incident when he played for England; in that moment he had every right to give that reaction! It does not preclude the fact that it was a malicious tackle. Men, these guys are full of 💩
Nothing confusing , even if didn't fully warrant a red card, that kind of reaction you always running the risk of a sending off.
Stevie and Craig dont get it… no suprises there 😂 Arteta is saying Max reacted and in doing so he gave the ref an excuse to send him off. But also that he doesn’t deserve a red card for that action. And his reaction was just frustration with the situation. It’s not that hard to understand.
What is confusing here?!!! He doesn't deserve a red but he still reacted!!!
Craig Burley is too dull Just because Arsenal appealed for the card does not mean he is contradicting himself. Dowman reacted and Arteta is angry about it.
It’s wasn’t violent conduct. Not even close. The tackle he suffered could’ve snapped his leg in half. He was restrained.
I'm with Ian on this matter.
sometimes i think these guys just listen to the producers without even putting any thought to what they are saying … the coaches saying Max has to learn how to handle these situations better because he was sent off for the same thing with the England team … if he didn’t react there wouldn’t have been an opportunity for the ref to send him off that’s all the coaches saying .. whether is was minimal or not
Arteta literally just talked to Max....ESPN FC panelists intentionally act dumb so they can use it as a stick to hit Arteta with...
They did not wind him up. They attacked him with a viscious challenge that could've ended his season. His reaction was light compared to the attack. He is human after all. Zidane was wound up before he head butted. Balotelli was also very temperamental.
I'm not the biggest fan of Arteta, but in this he is right. Nothing wrong with a sharp word in the player's s ear after repeated behaviour. As for the appeal, Arsenal were just trying to mitigate the damage, not that confusing. One is public facing response, the second is internal to the player.
Idk how they didn’t understand Arteta was upset in the moment because a player on his team just got a red card in a pivotal moment of the game. He also warned max not to react prior to the game because they knew they would target him with aggressive tackles. Craig is such a hater
how dose Arteta reaction to max sending off is not a topic of discussion, this show how big arsenal as a club and arsenal have become so big , to the extent any thing he do on the pitch must be talk about this days this show he is doing so well as a manager
Arteta reacted in the moment but after seeing it later he saw there was not much of a kick so he appealed!!!!!! Come on ppl did we just watch the same clip espn shameful
Due to public demand, I’m skipping this video.
Big up Ian, only one with common sense on this topic
This is a non story, what’s the outrage about? Nothing wrong with Arteta statement…
often times opposition players will intentionally rile you up. when a young kid starts showing a reaction publicly, every single player and manager who will play against arsenal in future will spot it and read your lack of emotional control. they will make a mental note that max dowman is one player who can't control his reactions. the better you are on the field, the more they feel it's necessary to get you sent off. that's exactly what lesser players did to him in the game. how many times was messi sent off in his entire career? dowman already has two red cards to his name before he turned 17. arteta is right. this is pro football playing for high stakes. the opposition will literally take you out of the game without hesitation. it's not amusement for kids to play, have fun and get their dreams come true.
Nothing burger in terms of Arteta’s reaction and comments. As far as the card, the other player scissor tackle was at least a yellow and I have seen reds for those
