High-level Dialogue on Governance and Financing of Long-Term Care in the Americas

This video features the "High-level Dialogue on Governance and Financing of Long-Term Care in the Americas: Building Sustainable Systems for Aging Societies", organized by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on 29 October 2026.
Held in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to mark the International Day of Care and Support, the dialogue brought together policymakers, international organizations and financial institutions to discuss how to strengthen governance and secure sustainable financing for long-term care in the Region. Building on the Regional Policy on Long-Term Care 2025–2034, participants shared country experiences and positioned long-term care as a strategic investment in health, well-being, social inclusion and economic development, as the Americas face rapid population aging and a heavy reliance on family and informal care.
