Sharon Osbourne Details Her Last Moments With Late Husband Ozzy

Sharon Osbourne is opening up about her final moments with her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne.

The rock legend died at age 76 in July 2025 at the family’s home in Buckinghamshire, England, while Sharon, 74, was still asleep, she recalled to the BBC in an interview published on Monday, October 26.

“We’d spoken in the night. Ozzy had woken in the night, and he asked me to kiss him twice, and I did,” Sharon said of her last moments with Ozzy the night before he died. “And then he said, ‘Hold me, hold me tight,’ and I did.”

“And then the next thing I know, it’s early in the morning, and someone comes rushing into the room saying, ‘Come down now.’ I ran down, and that was it,” she said.

The former The Talk cohost told the BBC that she visits Ozzy’s grave every day and is still consumed by grief more than a year after his death.

“You’ve lost the love of your life, so you don’t just wake up and go, ‘I’m fine now. I’m cured,’” she said. “You never get over it. But you learn to live with it, and that’s what I’m trying to do. So you either sit in a room and don’t come out or you accept it, befriend it and that’s it.”

Ozzy is buried in the family’s garden in Buckinghamshire, Sharon said.

“There was no way I could put Ozzy in a public graveyard,” she explained. “I’ve seen what happens to other people in the public eye. There’s no peace because people want to come and they want to pay their respects. That’s an ongoing thing, and I wanted Ozzy to rest and just be.”

Sharon and Ozzy wed in 1982 and share three children: daughters Aimee, 43, and Kelly, 41, and son Jack, 40. (Ozzy also had three children from his first marriage.)

The Black Sabbath star’s cause of death was cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease, per his death certificate released in August 2025.

Just weeks before his death, Ozzy performed with Black Sabbath one final time in his home city of Birmingham.

“He was just so, so happy,” Sharon told the BBC. “He was online, going through the reviews and saying, ‘There’s something terribly wrong,’ and I’m like, ‘Why?’ He goes, ‘I didn’t get slagged by anybody. Why are people being nice to me? And I’m like, ‘Because they like you.’”

“He was just floating for those last 17 days. It was great. It was joyous,” she said of Ozzy’s final days after the concert on July 5, 2025.
