In Jessica Radloff’s new book ‘Young Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw’s-Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy,’ the ‘Hannah Montana’ alum, who was 30 when she began filming the show, revealed she requested an intimacy coordinator for her and a then-18-year-old Jordan’s kissing scenes due to their 12-year age gap. “That made me uncomfortable. He was a baby! A baby with a mullet,” Osment said in the book, per Variety. “Obviously they were not able to get one that late in the day, but for the next few episodes they had one there, since the relationship between them escalates.” And as expected, having a professional on set to guide the actors made a world of difference. “It made everything easier having one there,” Osment added. “I think it’s something that’s really important.” Jordan, 23, and Osment, 34, played George Cooper and Mandy McAllister, respectively, on the CBS show for three seasons together until the series finale in 2024. There are quite a number of comments expressing shock of the existence of an intimacy coordinator. Intimacy coordinators have existed for decades. I remember an actress talking about doing a movie with Steven Segal in the 90's, and needing an intimacy coordinator onset, because Steven would get handsy and inappropriate with her during "bed scenes." They do have value.
I think it was/is smart thinking, having an intimacy cordinator. Never heard of such a career, but very good idea to make sure both actors are protected legally and personally.
She was 30 and he was 18. No wonder she felt uncomfortable. 2 different stages of life. One is a child, one is an adult.
Lose the AI audio. The enunciations and tempo makes it hard to listen to.
Why not eliminate intimacy scenes altogether on all media. The actors are inept when performing these scenes. Stick to clever dialog.
