Fantastic for Brazil! Bolsonaro is a trump stooge.
Al Jazeera MUST stop emulating US media. Stop interrupting! Makes me want to stop watching.
Will he fix all of Brazil’s social and economic woes, of course not. However, he’s much better than the alternative which was a right-wing clown show.
25' The Amazon is not the lungs of the world...The expression is scientifically misleading. Although it absorbs large amounts of CO₂ through photosynthesis, much of that carbon is released again through respiration and decomposition. Mature rainforests also consume much of the oxygen they produce. The oceans, particularly phytoplankton, contribute a larger share of the oxygen produced globally each year. The Amazon is still crucial for biodiversity, carbon storage, rainfall regulation, and climate stability though.
qatar doesnt even allow people to vote, so what are you bragging about
Lula rigged the Brazilian elections.
He’s the Brazilian FDR; watch them try to impose term limits to no more than twice because the right wing can’t win.
Right now, unemployment is at a historic low of 5%, inflation is at 5%, GDP is expected to grow by 2.2% (Brazil is the 8th largest economy in the world by GDP PPP, and the 10th by nominal GDP). The HDI is at 0.786 (the highest so far), and the country has just left the UN Hunger Map (it includes countries where food insecurity affects more than 4% of the population. Brazil is below 4% now). A tax reform has just passed Congress (the most important since the adoption of the Tax Code of 1967). It unifies 5 types of taxes into 1 (an enormous reduction in bureaucracy and complexity), it lowers income tax on the middle class, and it exempts from federal taxes a long list of basic items (mostly food, personal hygiene and cleaning products). The mur3r rate fell from 46 thousand in 2022 to 32 thousand in 2025, deforestation in the Amazon fell by more than half in 4 years... what else? The country has 300 billion dollars in reserves, and it has more external credit than external debt (if all countries got together to pay up their debts, Brazil has more money to receive than to pay). The trade surplus is at 70 billion dollars. There is a budget deficit of 0.6% of the GDP and public debt is at 83% of the GDP (those two are points of concern, but, for perspective, in the US, those numbers are 5.8% and 126%, respectively)
Viva a democracia! Viva o Grande povo brasileiroooo!!!!
