Tens of thousands march in France protests before police respond with tear gas and water cannons

Protests in France continued a week after widespread rioting and looting across the country occurred during demonstrations over school funding and soaring living costs. In Paris, near the march's end point at Porte de Vincennes, some protesters threw projectiles while police fired volleys of tear gas and used water cannons to disperse people.

CORRECTION (Oct. 25, 2026): A previous version of this video included protest footage that was incorrectly located in Paris. It was in fact showing protests in Rome and has been removed.
