Those leak detectors need to be as close to the source of the possible leak as possible. If the water has time to get to the crawl space from above a lot of damage has already been done. In the cabinet under the sink, behind the toilet, under the dishwasher, behind the washing machine....

The sensors under the kitchen and bathroom sinks should ideally be in the cabinets, not in the crawl space. You want to catch the water leaks as soon as possible, before it has a chance to ruin the millwork, floors, etc.
