Etihad Airways entered 2026 after its most profitable year on record. Then the Iran conflict disrupted flights, drove up jet-fuel costs and put its rapid expansion under pressure.
Group CEO Antonoaldo Neves discusses how Etihad managed the crisis, why the airline is now targeting break-even for the year and why it is still betting on growth.
Watch Antonoaldo Neves’ interview on “Managing Middle East with Dan Murphy” in the video above.

Expand growth to 65m by 2023? Did u mean 2033?
Clearly he loves the engineering department. Let them fly with crew only!
Best airline in the World 🤎 Etihad ♥️..... beautifully conducted interview buddy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
drinking game : take a shot every time he says "right?" in the course of a conversation. 🙄
I have a few issues with Etihad. They have inconsistencies with plane types mean different standards of business and first class. But my biggest issue is that the purpose of Etihad is to bring business into Abu Dhabi, so why are flights to and from Abu Dhabi the most expensive. It is cheaper for me to fly to India and board the flight from there, come through AD, than to book straight from AD.
🎉
Worst CEO there ever is. This profit growth comes from cutting the cost of operations at the expense of employees.
lol what is he even talking about?? they’re known for having the most toxic work environment in the industry ever since these guys took over… all they do is hype themselves up and talk about their “massive growth plans” 💀 the company’s future is hanging by a thread and with all the drama about their cco that’s been going around internally lol they’re one viral tiktok away from a massive downfall
I wanted to fly A320 for them and they rejected me…
7:32 Strange, an Aussie man can't pronounce "route" correctly.
@etihad please add LAS VEGAS
Why even have an airline when the ruler of that country, the UAE can literally push a button and print and an infinite amount of money?.
A terrible airline. I flew once, never again.
