watchOS 27.2 available now for Apple Watch, here’s what’s new

Description

watchOS 27.2 is rolling out now for Apple Watch users alongside visionOS 27.2 and more. Here’s what’s new.

watchOS 27.2 upgrades Siri AI in several ways and includes Apple Music design changes

The Apple Watch has a new software update available now. You can download and install watchOS 27.2 from the Watch app on your iPhone, but you’ll want to install iOS 27.2 first.

watchOS 27.2 is largely focused on improving Siri AI. Per Apple’s release notes:

Siri AI can recall your past conversations, so you can ask Siri about something it told you before, like the restaurants it recommended last week
Siri AI can draw from more sources to give you a great answer, including photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, your voicemails, and better results from Safari history and Reading List from your phone
Excluded Apps lets you choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access, all from one setting on your phone
Siri AI now provides faster responses on Apple Watch

watchOS 27.2 also brings Siri AI to more users than before thanks to an expansion of supported languages. In watchOS 27.0, Siri AI only offered US English compatibility.

Now today, Siri AI is available in the following additional languages:

French
Japanese
Korean
Portuguese
Spanish

Another noteworthy change in watchOS 27.2 is that Apple Music gets a new app icon and some smaller design updates.

Last week Apple unveiled a new visual identity for Apple Music, and today’s software updates make changes that align with that rebrand. As a result, watchOS 27.2 drops the previous red Music app icon for a new black-and-white look. You’ll also find more monochrome design updates throughout the app.

visionOS 27.2 for Apple Vision Pro similarly includes the expanded set of Siri AI languages and new Apple Music icon. No other changes have been discovered.
