As the world braces for the annual Black Friday shopping frenzy, Nigerian e-commerce giant, Konga, is preparing its own answer to the global retail phenomenon — Konga Yakata 2026 — with a promise to triple the shopping experience for consumers.
The month-long retail festival, expected to kick off on November 1, is shaping up as one of the biggest shopping events on Nigeria’s retail calendar, combining massive discounts with expanded product choices, flexible payments and faster delivery.
Unlike the traditional Black Friday model, which compresses the shopping frenzy into a single day, Konga Yakata stretches the experience across an entire month, giving consumers more time to hunt for deals, compare prices and plan purchases.
The 2025 edition offered discounts of up to 80 per cent across major categories, including smartphones, electronics, home appliances, fashion and groceries, drawing significant traffic to Konga’s online platform and retail stores.
For 2026, the company is expected to push the experience further, with deeper deals, wider product availability across its physical retail outlets, enhanced payment options through KongaPay and faster fulfilment through KongaNow.
The timing could hardly be more significant.
With Nigerian households still grappling with high living costs and reduced purchasing power, major shopping festivals are increasingly becoming opportunities for consumers to stretch their budgets.
Konga Yakata is therefore positioning itself not merely as a discount campaign but as a strategic shopping window where consumers can spread purchases, target essential items and take advantage of promotional prices without the pressure of a one-day shopping rush.
And there is more to the Yakata story.
Beyond consumers, the campaign provides thousands of merchants and small businesses on Konga’s marketplace with an opportunity to put their products before a much larger customer base, potentially turning the annual shopping festival into a major commerce engine.
With Nigeria’s e-commerce market continuing its growth trajectory, the battle for the consumer during the festive shopping season is also becoming more intense.
Konga appears determined to own a sizeable part of that battle.
From smartphones and laptops to generators, refrigerators, fashion items and everyday household essentials, Yakata 2026 is expected to bring a wider range of products within reach of consumers looking for value.
So, while shoppers across the globe prepare for Black Friday, Nigerians have another retail date to circle on their calendars.
Konga Yakata 2026 is coming — and this time, Konga says the experience will be bigger, better and, potentially, three times the fun.
