Brazil has a new president and the result is one for the history books. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva pulled off a rare comeback after finishing behind in the first round of voting. As supporters celebrated in Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana despite the rain, the election highlighted deep political divisions and raised fresh questions about the future of Latin America's largest economy.

After all the news of people voting against their own best interests and oligarchs coming to power, this news from Brasil is much needed. Well done Brasil!
