You can't fool us Vsauce. We know you crushed the sugar with your bare hand. Edit: I tried this about 10 days ago by placing the bread slice in the sugar packet for about 12 hours. 10 days later, the sugar still hasn't lost its moisture. Though it is not the same proper "wet sand" feel, it is very easy to break into with a spoon.

I prefer marshmallows for this because it won’t get moldy as fast just in case I forget about it. Marshmallows tend to just grow stale instead

If you’re gluten free, a marshmallow works too btw. They also make terracotta discs for this purpose

I believe I saw a short which said that an even better alternative to the bread is a marshmallow. Bread can get mouldy if you leave it in too long, but a marshmallow can’t
