The guy with the walking stick in his side didn't want to get airlifted after they told him how much it would cost. So he walked down. And then they drove him to a hospital (not with an ambulance but just a normal car - I think his friends drove him?) and then he had to go to a different hospital because the one closest wasn't specialized enough for removal and he ALSO REFUSED AN AMBULANCE. Because - you guessed it - of the costs. US healthcare - a neverending supplier of crazy stories. (the story was in our newspaper, that's how I know about it)

The earthquake where all the doctors immediately squared off the patient and they threw their cheast / extended arms on top of them to protect them really touched me 🥺 it's so nice to see someone instinctively protect strangers from harm.

Hi Dr. Mike! I know you probably won't see this, but I have a super rare seizure disorder that also heightens chances of SUDEP. If you see this, could you consider a video (even a short one) talking about epilepsy and the different ways they present? A lot of people don't have any sort of knowledge. A lot of people only think lights cause seizures, when there are actually so many different types.
Remember, if someone needs cpr, they're already dead. Don't be afraid of hurting them with CPR.
